Frequently Asked Questions

What is RTC?

RTC is a volunteer-run road trip club based in Mumbai. We organise drives across the year, from day rides to multi-day expeditions, and every drive runs as a convoy with discipline and safety at the centre.

Are you the same as Road Trippers Club and The Road Trips Co?

Yes. RTC began as Road Trippers Club in 2018, was renamed The Road Trips Co in 2019, and is now Road Trip Cruisers. It is the same club, and much of our press coverage uses the earlier names.

Are you present in other cities?

We were present in 20 cities before COVID. Now we are only in Mumbai.

Do I need to be an experienced driver to join?

No. Many members start as first-timers. Our first rides are designed to help you learn convoy etiquette, route discipline and how to drive with the group. Know your vehicle and be ready to follow the Captain's instructions.

Can women join and drive?

Yes. RTC is open to all genders, and women drive, lead and captain our convoys. Our Women's Day Rally and Better Half Rally are two examples of drives built around that.

Is RTC meant for families?

Yes, RTC is meant for families. Couples, kids, and the whole family are welcome to ride with us, and pets are welcome too. We are a community of road travelers, not a biking club, though bikes are welcome on our rides. Every ride has its own route, pace, and safety requirements, so check the ride details before you plan to bring little ones or a furry co-traveler along. Whatever the group looks like, the same values hold: drive with discipline, respect the convoy, and never litter.

Do I need a bike or a car?

RTC is a car-based club. Bikes are welcome on some drives, but check the individual drive note for vehicle requirements.

How much does it cost to join?

In addition to an annual membership fee, each drive costs as per the total drive expenses. Since we are a non-profit, the total costs are divided among the participants. We however, make some base assumptions and request advance payments from drivers.

What do I need to do to stay a member?

Members need to complete at least one official RTC drive each year to keep their membership active. If you're inactive for 12 months, your membership lapses. You can reinstate by completing two drives and paying the annual renewal fee.

Does the cost of a drive include food, fuel and stays?

Drive costs vary. Each drive note lists what is covered, such as stays, meals or entry fees, and what is paid separately.

How do I register for a drive?

Use the "Express Interest" form on the Upcoming drives page, or message us on WhatsApp. Our team will confirm your place and send the details you need.

What is the difference between a Member and a First-timer?

A First-timer is joining their first official drive. Once you've completed one drive and finished onboarding, you become a Member and gain access to members-only activities.

How do I contact RTC?

Email roadtrippersclub@gmail.com, message us on WhatsApp, or send a note through the "Get in touch" form.

What are the rules I must follow on a drive?

Every RTC drive follows our Code of Conduct and Ten Commandments. The main rules are no rash driving, no alcohol while driving, respect for the convoy and for women, no littering, and punctuality.
